halloween...yeehaw!

We had fun celebrating Halloween the entire week it seemed!  Between class parties, our ward trunk-or-treat, trick-or-treating at the discovery museum, and trick-or-treating with friends the night of, there was definitely no shortage of goodies!  We had a great time dressing up and spending time with friends.  We may be biased, but we thought we had the cutest little band of cow-herders you ever did see!

It's no mystery that this blog goes neglected for long periods of time (like a year, ahem...) but even though I have been awful about documenting in words what has happened in our lives, I have been fairly good at taking pictures.  So, although the events I will now blog about are of the past, I still want them written down, because as our dear, late Grandma Mildred Stutz once said "If stories aren't written down, they are like ashes in the wind."  In other words, they never happened.  And for heaven sakes, A LOT has happened for our family in the last year.... my apologies that you will have to go back and read them since I hope to post them in chronological order:)

first day of kindergarten...

Well, it's official!  We've got Kindergartners!  The girls were SO excited when the first day of school finally arrived.  I had mixed feelings, however.  The school we are zoned for only offers full-day Kindergarten, and since they had never attended pre-school or anything like it, I was worried about how they (translation: I) would do.  But we are all adjusting quite nicely.  Though Graham would have loved to go with them!  The girls just LOVE their teacher (and so do I!), and they have already made lots of new friends.  And it's a definite added bonus that their school requires them to wear uniforms which makes our mornings run fairly smoothly.
